I went to Kennesaw Auto after being quoted over $700 by a chain dealership to have my brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced. I chose here since it was close to my office and had great reviews. However, I was sorely disappointed. I left my car at 8am and was called at 12pm with an invoice. I was told that “my rotors are so badly warped that no amount of resurfacing can salvage them.” They said that my calipers were completely undone and would have to replaced and that one of my back tire’s rotors wasn’t even spinning it was locked so bad. Quoted me $2,000 dollars for the repair. At this point, I’m absolutely shocked by the cost. I need time to think and decide to take it to another dealership for a second opinion. After all, if my entire braking system needs to be replaced, it needs to be replaced. However, I give it to a NEW chain dealership by my office and inform them to please call me if there are any mechanical issues with my brakes beyond the resurfacing and brake pads. At the end of the work day, my car is ready and cost me less than $400. I request to speak to the service tech and inquire about the rotor and caliper status. They said the rotors were shining like new. I stated that I had been told by another company that they said my rotors and calipers were so badly warped that there was no chance of resurfacing them. The dealership says this is ABSOLUTELY false. They informed me that they definitely needed resurfacing and had I not brought it in, they probably would begin warping but were nowhere near the shape that KAC said they were in. My car drives like new. No shaking, clean drives. I think it is absolutely ridiculous and insulting for a company to try and take advantage of a young woman to that extent. A 400% price increase is appalling. I won’t go here ever again. Especially as a lady. While the staff was polite and very understanding that I left, I don’t feel they give an honest inspection and invoice for car maintenance.
